Service design is the activity of planning and organizing people, infrastructure, communication and material components of a service in order to improve its quality and the interaction between service provider and customers. The purpose of service design methodologies is to design according to the needs of customers or participants, so that the service is user-friendly, competitive and relevant to the customers. The backbone of this process is to understand the behaviour of the customers, their needs and motivations. You can get a good idea of what it's about from this video:
For GSJ people interested in service and customer experience will meet at locations all over the globe.
They will be designers, students, academics, business people, customers, mums, kids and grand-dads.
In a spirit of experimentation, innovation, co-operation and friendly competition, teams will have less than 48 hours to develop and prototype completely new services inspired by a shared theme. At the end of the weekend, their collection of brand new services will be published to the world.
The Global Service Jam Aberdeen will be a high-energy, collaborative & freeform event, in which some of the brightest minds and lovely folk in Scotland (and even a few from further afield!) will get together to design new services in parallel with a whole host of jams across the world.
Anyone can get involved! We're hoping to have a good mix of people including students, practising designers, local businesses and anyone interested in service design!REGISTER NOW
